There have to be some benefits to getting older and one of them is no longer feeling the need to conform to convention or stereotype. Getting bolder in my colour and style choice for clothes is where I want to go - maybe a slightly hippie-cum-Boho vibe? Anyway I'm certainly starting to opt for more colour and looser, flowing styles.
There is a wonderful poem called “Warning” by Jenny Joseph. If you don't know it, here's the link - POEM I think it sums up how I'm beginning to feel!
I love pastel colours, florals, butterflies, birds and have the desire to mix all these up together and this is reflected in my art journal page.
I gave the page a splash of colour with Tim Holtz faded dots stencil and DI Spun Sugar and Broken China. The Doo Lally Pip image is stamped using black StazOn and then I tore pieces from a multi-coloured sheet of Mulberry paper for the skirt and hat. When torn the edges are quite feathery as you can see and when I'd finished I had several little bits left so I added these around the page.
I added some doodling, words cut from magazines and journaling down the left-hand side to finish off.
Anyone care to join me in a little hat shopping???
