The Power of the Imagination

My first set of Flonzcraft stamps arrived today and I couldn't wait to start creating with them.  I chose the Vintage Machines stamp set which you can see here, together with a sweet Christmas stamp.

I already had a piece of chipboard which had been inked with Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy and stamped with Crafty Individuals' script stamp in DI Pumice Stone.  I over-stamped this with Crafty Individuals' clocks and watches stamp set in Vintage Photo and then used three of the images from the Flonzcraft stamps using StazOn black ink.

I double-stamped the gramophone, pince-nez and flying machine so the image on the background was slightly faded.

For the large, debossed stamped sentiment I used Blonde Moments Embossing Powder, heating three layers until it was thick enough to push the Tim Holtz, Stuff to Say stamp into.  If you can't read it, it says: The world of reality has its limits; but the world of imagination is boundless.  The other sentiments are stamped in StazOn red and a few more blobs and smears of embossing powder added to the ethereal effect.

Bonsai Number 4

Here's another of my the little Bonsai Cross Stitch pictures. They are quite small, I suppose the average size is about 12cm x 14 cm but I've been thinking of sewing some of them together with some coordinating fabric to make a cushion cover.  I can't quite make up my mind but when I do, be sure I'll post pictures here.

My Little Tags - Take 2

This is the second scheduled post using previously-made tags and keeping the simple theme going, I've used a Kraft card blank again but this time added some lovely spotty card as a mat to show off the blue background of the tag.
The theme for this tag was, I think, water so I used tissue paper, Distress Ink and water to colour the tag before embellishing.  Clearly this has a masculine theme so I won't add any other embellishments.

New Challenge Month at Altered Eclectics

Pop over to ALTERED ECLECTICS and see all the fantastic DT pieces to inspire you this month.
I've opted for a small project for my DT submission - an altered key ring.  Remember we are an altered art only challenge blog, no cards, ATCS or other papercrafts please.  If you enter these you are unlikely to receive a comment and will definitely not be entered into the draw.
Now the rules are out of the way, here's my project.

I started with a cheap plastic key ring with a piece of advertising card inside.  The fob was in one piece so I couldn't remove the card, I had to cover it up.  As usual I opted for a monochromatic theme, which I think on small pieces is more effective anyway.
First of all I used black StazOn and a large swirl stamp on one side, ensuring the stamp went off the edges.  This gave a nice effect around the clear part of the plastic which could be seen from both sides.
Next I cut two pieces of black card and using Crafty Individuals' script stamp and StazOn Opaque white, lightly stamped the cards to give a soft background.  The white ribbon was stuck on before the  monogram letter was stamped and heat embossed using white embossing powder.

The cards were lined up on both sides and glued down with a strong adhesive before the final embellishments were added.
