Our Feathered Friends

That's the challenge over at  CRAFT ROOM  this month.  So here's my entry.  I little tag full of sparkle, well trust me, it hasn't come out very well in the photo but it is.
I used a Crafty Individuals' white tag and after inking the edges with Distress Ink in Broken China and spraying with Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mist in Astral Blue, it was matted onto some blue mirror card.
The stamps are all from Crafty Individuals: the large bird and birdhouse is from CI-364 and the tiny birds are from one of the lovely complimentary stamps they send with orders.  The images were stamped using DI Black Soot.

Autumn is Here

The leaves are starting to turn to those lovely Autumnal colours and whilst I love the colours of this season, it also heralds the coming of winter which I don't look forward to.  However, it's a good reason to use all those lovely bronze and red shades of Distress Ink and embossing enamels.
For this card I started by die cutting a large butterfly using the Cricut and Indie Art cartridge.  Using  the outside of the die cut as a mask, I sprayed Gingerbread Glimmer Mist over the top to create the butterfly image for the background.  Mustard Seed and Fired Brick DI was used to ink around the masked butterfly and the edges of the card.

The centre butterfly is stamped using Crafty Individuals' CI-061 in DI Rusty Hinge and Fired Brick, then edged very lightly with Aged Scarlet Frantage embossing enamel.  The sentiment is also from Crafty Individuals and stamped in Fired Brick and edged the same.
I'm entering this into two challenges this month:
Crafty Individuals - In Autumnal Colours
Fashionable Stamping Challenges - Make a Card

A New Start

At last I can see the 'light at the end of the tunnel'.  My workload is easing dramatically and as I settle into my new job and routine, it is taking less time to prepare and research everything I need.  This is, I hope, the start of my blogging and crafting again and as I've been absent for so long, I thought a change of blog background was in order.  A new start all round.
To get started, here's a cardboard picture frame I altered for my office.  I wanted a picture of Keith so a masculine feel was required.

I covered the frame with Bronze Viva D├ęcor Croco Crackle, then added the elements around the edge.  These were heat embossed with Fran tage embossing enamel in Aged Bronze and Aged Scarlet.
The photo is from Louise's first graduation.  We have another one coming up in January!!
