Out and About

I'm sharing my page for this month's theme of 'Out and About' at ART JOURNAL JOURNEY  today, which reflects how I enjoy going out with my sketchbook and paints.  However, I don't take the opportunity to do this as often as I'd like so maybe now I'll make more time.

I started by using a piece of corrugated card  to create lines across the page with chalk paint in teal and antique white.  Then I stencilled the word 'Love' using white texture paste.

When this was dry I used Tim Holtz Circus Alphabet and Distress Ink Black Soot to stamp 'To Paint'.  The rest of the text was painted free-hand using chalk paint. When everything was dry I painted some of the text with watercolour paint.

The focal image was a little note sent with one of my ATC swaps (thanks to Janice for that), stamped using a free magazine stamp and DI Black Soot.

This is a wonderful piece and envy that you can sketch and paint when you are out and about. I like the focal image with the stamped image over it.
