I'm sharing a double page today featuring one of my favourite Tim Holtz stamps. It's a very versatile stamp and for me it represents my art and craft philosophy. It certainly captures all the random thoughts I've had for new projects lately. So many ideas in fact I've started noting them down but how many ever get off the ground is another matter. Anyway on with the journal pages.
On the left I've used the stamp in its entirety but on the right I masked out the words I didn't want in order to create a different phrase.
I worked on both pages simultaneously and started by using a diamond stencil and white texture paste on the left hand page then switching to silver texture paste. When this was dry I flicked Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mist in Patina and Antique Rose across sections of each page.
I used the end of the spray tube from inside the bottles to draw scribbly lines around the pages, then dropped pools of colour and blew these across the texture paste.
On this page I stamped the selected words onto white tissue paper and used Mod Podge to stick this over the silver texture paste, brushing a little gesso around the edges and over some of the paste. A few more flicks of Cosmic Shimmer over the stamping completed the pages.
