Butterfly Dreams Art Journal Page

Butterflies are beautiful, delicate and fleeting - suddenly flying into view only to vanish again, with a brief life that brings pleasure and wonderment.  A bit like my thoughts and plans lately which have been many, varied and certainly fleeting.  So many ideas which no sooner pop into my head and they're gone again.  I really should keep a notebook on me all the time!

This, together with an offcut of wrapping paper covered in delicate butterflies, was my inspiration for this journal page.  After giving the page a coat of crafters' acrylic cream paint and adding the paper, I further toned down the pale colours a little with some gesso and added a few torn butterflies to one edge.

The stamped butterfly panel is from Crafty Individuals' using DI Broken China, stamped onto watercolour paper for added texture.  The main sentiment 'Butterfly Dreams' used two alphabet stamp sets: Flonzcraft and Stampers' Anonymous and doodling was added in black pen and the dots in fine blue felt tipped pen.
