I can't believe it's September already but that means a new 'Anything Goes' challenge over at ALTERED ECLECTICS. Please remember this is an altered art only challenge, no cards, scrapbook layouts or other papercrafts please.
For my DT project this time I chose to alter a wooden spoon.
The spoon is painted with Craig & Rose, Opulence pearlised silk wood paint in Rich Sari. I bought this from a well-known DIY store and have used it on both wood and thick card.
The images are from Crafty Individuals' Miniatures, People & Places 2 image book, torn into small pieces and glued across the bowl of the spoon and down the handle. Once dry, I lightly brushed over the white torn edges with the Craig & Rose paint to mute the pictures and blend them together.
The lace was wrapped around the handle and glued into place at the top and bottom, then secured with the ribbon. The wooden hearts were also painted with Craig & Rose and stuck on using a hot glue gun. A few pearls were added to the hearts and round the bowl to finish off.
