Altered Art Becomes Nature's Beauty

Nature's Beauty is the theme over at CRAFTY INDIVIDUALS this month which seemed perfect for the Tando Creatives Must Haves mini printer tray I bought from CI ages ago.  A collection of natural objects in a display case, like the ones you see in museums or on collectors' walls.  I wanted to make this a hanging display so rather than use the whole kit, I decided to split it into three and just use one section of the tray and backing.  By doing that I get three frames for the price of one.

Having decided whether to hang it portrait or landscape, I painted the frame and backing with Vintage White DecoArt acrylic paint then stamped everything with CI-017 script stamp and Tea Dye DI.

For the individual elements I used:

The large butterfly is CI-061, stamped twice in Spiced Marmalade DI.
The small butterfly is CI-347, in Rusty Hinge.
The dragon fly is CI-364 using Broken China
The dragon, in Black Soot and the bird, in Brushed Corduroy are free stamps from CI.
The shell in Pumice Stone was free from Craft Stamper Magazine
The trees in Olive Green StazOn  (I can't remember where I bought this one)

Once the main elements were placed, I cut out the second large butterfly and glued this on the top of the first one to create more dimension as with the smaller butterfly, shell and bird.  The addition of some raffia and a tiny pink shell completed the collection.
