First Challenge of the Year at Altered Eclectics

Yes it's the 1st of February and that means the first altered art challenge of 2014 over at
Take a look at the great Design Team projects for February to inspire you and then get creating but remember, altered art only please, no cards, scrapbook layouts or ATCs.
Here's my DT project for the month: an altered photo frame, picked up from the charity shop for £1.99.
It had a few scuffs on it so I gave it a coat of Artists' Acrylic paint in Vintage white before covering it with white tissue paper which had been stamped using Distress Ink in Tea Dye and the Crafty Individuals' CI-017 script stamp.

I then die cut two frames using the Cricut and Elegant Edges cartridge.  The frames were heat embossed using Frantage Aged Scarlet embossing enamel.  The centres were inked with DI Tea Dye and the sentiments, from Tim Holtz Stuff to Say and Craft Stamper magazine, were stamped in DI Black Soot.  I also cut a frame blank using the same cartridge, again inked with Tea Dye and stamped using Dusty Concord with a free CI stamp.  This was glued to the base using a tab of card as a hinge.
The sentiment in the centre of the heart frame is from Tim Holtz again, stamped using Dusty Concord, the same colour being used to stamp the sentiments around the frame.  I can easily change the sentiment for a photo or another saying if I want to, which makes this frame really versatile.
Good luck with your entries over at Altered Eclectics!!
