At last a supply of tape arrived so I could finish this project which is for a work colleague. If you want to try this yourself, it's from a project by Debbie Dolphin called Delicate Folds in the August 2011 issue of Craft Stamper Magazine. It may look quite difficult but once you have mastered the scoring and folding of the book sides, it's really easy.
I used white Bazzill Bling card stock for my cover onto which I matted card from the Tim Holtz Ideology, Vintage Shabby card pad. The sides of the book are plain white card, inked along the edges with Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy.
All the die cut elements for the cover and the lace edges inside the book were made using the Cricut Elegant Edges cartridge. The Indie Art cartridge was used for the butterflies and the flowers, which were cut in four different sizes using a plum-coloured Bazzill Card and white card sprayed with Glimmer Mist in Gingerbread. Each individual layer was then sprayed with water, scrunched up and left to dry before piecing together, finishing off with a dot of Stickles in Xmas red. Gabrielle Pollacco has a great tutorial for making these on her blog. The butterflies are glued into the folds of the book at different levels to give a 3D effect.
The sentiment inside, from the Stampers Anonymous Stuff to Stay set, is stamped onto white card which has been spritzed with Cosmic Shimmers Vintage Rose and stamped in DI Black Soot.
I'm entering this into the CRAFT ROOM challenge which is Handmade Embellishments.
