Pack Up Your Troubles

Finally I'm feeling a bit better and have finished the gift box I was making in the shape of a suitcase.  I used the Crafter's Companion Boxer Board to make the two halves, which are hinged together with a strip of card stock.  This project is covered in the Intermediate section of the Crafter's Companion Ultimate Pro techniques DVD.

I've decided to enter this into the current Fashionable Stamping Challenges challenge 'Embossing'.  If you want to join in click HERE or scroll down the side bar to their button.

I started with two pieces of pale lilac pearlescent card stock cut to size, then used the Boxer Board to score the lines for folding.  I used  a darker, purple coloured matt card stock and the Cuttlebug to emboss the daisy design and then cut one large panel for the top of the suitcase and eight strips for the sides and stuck these on.

The images and travel ephemera were stamped onto plain white card stock using black StazOn and adhered using Glossy Accents glue.  Some layered flowers, ribbon handles and a luggage tag finished the project and the suitcase is now ready to hold a nice gift.

You can see the embossing more clearly here.

What a fabulous gift box Sue - love the suitcase design. The travel images, the colours and the flowers blend together beautifully. A wonderful keepsake for a very lucky person.

Have a happy week - Sylvia xx
