Wear Your Heart On Your Sleeve

Make a small gift look really good by putting a little effort into the wrapping.  It doesn't always have to be paper or a gift bag either.  I used some cream card stock to make a simple sleeve suitable for a DVD or large bar of chocolate and stamped with suitable images.

This is a simple but effective wrapping solution which works for any small square or rectangular item.  You simply need to measure the length and the width of the item.  Double the width to give both sides and then measure the depth or spine and add this to the doubled width measurement.  Cut out from card stock and then measure the width from one edge and score.  Score again to get the depth or spine and then once more 1cm in from the opposite edge to form the flap which glues the sleeve together.  When finished your gift should fit neatly inside.

As it's close to Valentine's Day I chose this Crafty Individuals stamp and Distress Ink in Vintage Photo, stamping this 3 times so I could decoupage the image.  The heart stamp was free with the January issue of Craft Stamper Magazine. The word love was stamped around the cover fairly randomly.

Always a lovely idea to make something simple look stunning by presenting it beautifully which is exactly what you achieved. Beautiful use of the CI stamp.
